I will say that the Purple mattresses dont feature the best motion isolation out there. While this isnt a dealbreaker, if youre really easily disturbed at night you might want to opt for a more traditional memory foam mattress, which will do a better job absorbing motion.

I do also want to note that a few customers have complained about the original Purple mattress sagging and forming indentations. I think the Purple Hybrids will be a bit more durable thanks to their innerspring coil layers, but heavier folks especially might want to opt for a different mattress if this is a concern. When you lie down on the Purple mattress, the gel grid collapses under heavier body parts. While this will cushion pressure points for lightweight side and back sleepers, it can lead to poor alignment for stomach sleepers and pain at the hips and shoulders of heavier folks.

The only difference between the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4 models is one inch of Purple Grid on top. Though it may not seem like much, that extra inch changes the feel of this mattress, combining the bounce of the coils with a plush comfort layer.

For back sleepers of any weight, the Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is probably too soft. Though not all back sleepers struggle with breathing problems, the ones that do are at risk for sinking down into a too-soft bed like the Hybrid Premier 4. When gravity pushes down on the throat, it can close up the airways, making back sleeping uncomfortable for snorers or those with sleep apnea.

The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is one of the best mattresses for side sleepers. Its a medium-soft mattress with limited motion transfer, unlike other soft foam beds with coil bases. The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is much too soft for stomach sleepers.
