Specs On The Casper Mattress

Keep in mind that I bought the original Casper mattress from the French site, as I live in France. While the overall mattress is more or less the same, the European version of the mattress is not 100% identical to the North American version. There are a few technical details that differ between the US version and the Europe one, mainly no zoned support in the Europe version.

Casper has 3 mattress models at the time of writing this post, 2 of which are available in France. Theres the basic model called The Essential, The Wave, which is a new higher end model not yet available in France, and The Casper, the brands signature mattress and the one I bought. The Casper comes in Original and Hybrid, with Original being the most popular and all foam.

The Casper Original mattress is composed of 4 premium all-foam layers. It is 12 inches in height and the foam is breathable so you wont get hot when you sleep. As their website states, the foams are certified by the CertiPUR-US® program, meaning they are made without ozone depleting chemicals and regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission Low VOC emissions for indoor air quality .

The mattress does not need a box spring and can sit on a platform bed, foundation and frame, or an adjustable frame your choice. Our Queen-size mattress sits nicely on our bed frame and was lightweight easy to maneuver when changing the sheets.

Whats It Like To Sleep On The Avocado & Casper Hybrid Mattresses

The Avocado mattress has firm support to keep back and stomach sleepers propped up comfortably throughout the night, but side sleepers might not have the cushion to keep the hips and shoulders comfortable as they press into the mattress. The Casper Hybrid, on the other hand, has a balance of pressure relief and firm support to suit all sleeping positionsas long as you weigh less than 230 pounds. What Is The Casper Cover Made Of

The cover of the Casper mattress is a really nice one. Its made of 99% polyester and 1% elastane. Polyester makes it breathable and allows airflow during sleep. Elastane allows the cover to wrap around the mattress properly for a perfect fit.

The cover is removable and all you have to do is just unzip it. You can machine wash it at 40 degrees so its quite easy to maintain. On the sides, they cleverly placed some handles which help a lot when you want to move this mattress. Especially with the larger sizes, the handles are very useful and I wish more makers would do the same. The cover feels strong but at the same time, its quite soft and feels nice. Overall, I think Casper did a really good job here so no complaints at all.

Casper Mattress Firmness And Feel

While completing this Casper mattress review I slept on the bed exclusively for 15 days and, like any mattress, it had its pros and cons. I felt incredibly comfortable lying on my back and stomach, but I could only spend so much time lying on my side before I felt like I had to change positions. If I slept on my side too long, I would wake up with tingling arms — a sign that the mattress may have been just a little too firm for me personally. However, I see a lot of side sleepers enjoying this mattress if you weigh over the 150 pound range.
