Mypillow Color Codes And Materials
All four of the MyPillow fill levels are made from the same materials, though they offer different levels of internal fill according to your preferred level of loft and support.
The cover fabric of each pillow is made from 100% cotton, and it feels light and soft to the touch. The pillows filling is made from 100% polyurethane foam which makes them shapeable, fluffable, and easy to fold. The polyfoam is shredded which is intended to enhance the breathability of the pillow, and make it easier to manipulate under the cover fabric. Polyfoam has a fluffy, cushy feel often found in mattress toppers or couch cushions.
Now, while theyre not adjustable, the different fill levels do cater to different sleeping positions. They range from soft to medium-firm and when youre choosing your MyPillow online, the fill levels are categorized by color.
From the lowest fill to the highest, the order goes: yellow, white, green, then blue. From yellow to blue, the fill levels slightly increase, adding loft and support. The idea here is that between four different fill levels, sleepers of all styles can find the loft that best suits their slumber habits.
Because the pillows do look pretty similar, you can check to see which pillow is which by looking at the lettering on the pillows tag. Before starting our formal pillow testing, we bought three My Pillows to examine. The company says the pillow has a three-piece interlocking fill, but it actually has thousands of polyurethane foam pieces in three sizes.
We were able to shift the foam pieces around, and they did seem to stay put under pressure. The case is 100 percent cotton, and it didnt have any noticeable off smells as some new pillows can.
How does it feel? One tester described the My Pillow as kind of lumpy, but comfortable. We also polled staffers who bought My Pillows on their own. Most said they bought it to help alleviate a sleep problem such as insomnia, neck pain, or snoring. MyPillow must also stop promoting their pillows as the official pillow of the National Sleep Foundation because they failed to disclose their financial ties to the organization to consumers. So, is MyPillow a scam? In our opinion no.
While we disagree with their marketing tactics we also believe that in the end, you get a pillow that does its job alright. But we also believe that there are better pillows on the market, at a lower price.

The fact that more air can get in between these shredssuggests that it will be a cooler-than-average pillow with a low neck-sweatfactor.
You can feel the individual shreds through the surface ofthe pillow. They?re dense, but also quite malleable and squishy. You canactually use your hands to manipulate the shape of the pillow somewhat and itseems to hold its shape.

At this point, it must be pretty clear that we cant say that MyPillow is the best pillow we have ever seen. In our opinion, it is an average, basic, pillow at a very high price.
There are better options out there but buying a pillow is also a very individual choice and ultimately only you can decide if you sleep better on MyPillow or another pillow.

What Are The Best Types Of Pillows For Hot Sleepers
Pillows made with latex are going to be some of the most breathable and coolest sleeping available. Feather and buckwheat fills retain less heat as well. Water pillows are uncommon options that also stay relatively cool.
Solid memory foam pillows and other dense foam fills should be avoided for hot sleepers, as they tend to trap heat. Shredded foam can be a middle ground, providing the feel of foam with more breathability, particularly if its infused with cooling gel.
How My Pillow Fared In Cr’s Tests
A good pillow needs to keep your head and neck supported and in a neutral position for you to get a good nights rest. In our lab, we evaluate pillows using 13 different tests. We use a pressure mat to analyze 1,600 pressure points, for example, and note areas where the pillow doesnt offer adequate support. We also look at how breathable pillows are , whether they bounce back after use , and how well theyre constructed, among other attributes. And we ask a panel of testers about things like how well the pillow conforms to their head.
Both the My Pillow Classic and the Premium earn top ratings for supporting side sleepers and decent ratings for back sleepers, with the Classic outperforming the Premium on that score. But our panel of sleep testers noted that they could feel the foam chunks when sleeping on the pillow, a somewhat unpleasant sensation.
After we placed an evenly distributed 225-pound weight on each of these pillows in a room set to 98.6° F and 80 percent humidity for 96 hours, neither one was great at regaining its shape, which means you may have to replace a My Pillow often.
