Are You Experiencing Pain
This should be a no-brainer. A good mattress can offset pain you experience, not cause it! If you are waking up every morning with stiffness in your joints and muscles, your bed may very well be part of the problem.
If your mattress is an incorrect match and does not suit the curves of your shape or weight, you may be sleeping with poor spine alignment or with inadequate pressure relief.

Research Before You Shop
Look around online before you start shopping.
There are plenty of non-profit resources available online to help you better understand sleep health and what your personal mattress needs might be.
Ask your doctor.
The first place to check if you have any health concerns is with your doctor or physical therapist. While healthcare professionals may not be mattress experts, they will be able to give you useful advice about what to look for since theyre familiar with your specific concerns and the research on them.
Investigate guarantees or trial period offers.
Lots of mattress companies boast a comfort guarantee or in-home trial. Make sure you thoroughly read the terms and conditions associated with any such guarantee before you purchase that mattress.
You want to be well aware of any fees, waiting periods, deadlines, or conditions before you make a purchase so that you dont run into any unexpected frustrations later on.
Check the mattress warranty.
Some mattress companies offer a 2-year warranty, which might sound great at first. A good mattress will come with at least a 10-year Full Warranty. An even better mattress will have a Lifetime Warranty.
Dont Go Broke Buying One
No matter who you are, mattress buying is an investment, but theres no reason to break your finances and gouge your savings to buy a new bed. There are fantastic sleep solutions out there that should match what you need, regardless of your budget, so sit down ahead of time and decide what money you are willing to spend before you begin looking.

Buying a mattress online can be a tough choice, but these mattress buying tips can help you out
If youre like most people, you probably spent more time on your mattress in recent months, and you may be ready to find one of the best mattresses to replace it. After all, data from fitness trackers found that Americans were sleeping more and moving less while under quarantine this spring, and all that time on your mattress may have convinced you its time for an upgrade.
Before you buy your new mattress, though, youve got to keep several factors in mind. Youll want to make sure the mattress-in-a-box company youre buying from has a good reputation and a generous trial period. But youll also need to do some research about what you want in a mattress, which companies offer those components, and how the delivery and setup process works.
Here are the key mattress buying tips youll need when you order a mattress from an online retailer.
How Should You Sleep While Pregnant
During your first trimester, youll often feel sleepy and want to nap. Its important you get the rest you need so sleep in whatever position feels most comfortable, including on your front or back.
In your second trimester, youll feel the babys weight more, which can feel uncomfortable and put extra pressure on certain areas of your body. This is when a soft mattress will help, while your bigger bump means the recommended position to sleep in is on your left side, as sleeping on your back will cause your bump to press against a main blood vessel, which may cause you to feel faint.
During your third trimester, your lower back may be a source of pain as it supports your babys increasing weight. To ease this, continue to sleep on your left side and with a pillow under your head, between your knees and under and around your bump to ease discomfort and take pressure off your muscles and hips. Weve also reviewed pregnancy pillows to help mums-to-be sleep.

Navigating through different sites, debating between foam or gel, looking for the best size and style for your room. Whether buying your mattress online or offline, we have done some studying and have compiled the best parameters you should check for before you make a purchase.
Shop online if
Its a matter of convenience. You might be pressed for time and might not be able to go from store-to-store trying out different mattresses. In such a situation, shopping online will bring great relief. Not only will you get to shop from the comfort of your home, but your mattress will arrive at your doorstep in a few days, with a money back guarantee and free shipping. The drawback of this option is that youll probably have to get rid of your old mattress by yourself and youll have to set up the new mattress by yourself as well. There is also the return policy that is attached to most of these products. So if youre unhappy with your purchase, you can always ask for a refund.
Skimp On The Foundation
If you have a platform bed, you wont need a foundation , but if you dont have a bed frame and dont want your mattress on the floor, youll need a foundation to raise it up. But theres no need to spend a lot of money on whats basically a wooden box covered with fabric. If your old foundation is still in good shape and youre buying the same size mattress, you might not need a new one at all. If purchasing a new foundation, ask to substitute a lower-priced model for the one typically sold with your mattress.
A standard bed frame that once held both a foundation box spring and mattress can be converted to a platform-style bed simply by omitting the foundation/ box spring and laying wooden slats or a sheet of plywood across the bed frame to hold the new mattress. Most modern mattresses perform just fine without the box spring, though manufacturers also try very hard to sell them to you.

What Mattress Would You Recommend Based On My Specific Needs And Preferences
Considering the numerous options available on the market, choosing the right mattress can seem daunting. If you are having a difficult time selecting the best mattress, ask the sales staff for recommendations.
When doing this, be sure to provide information regarding your favorite sleeping position, mattress firmness preference, whether you will be sharing the bed with a partner, as well as any medical needs and known allergies you may have. An experienced sales representative will take all these factors into account before providing objective advice and guidance, as well as never worry about sales pitches.
How Will You Use Your Futon
How you plan to use a futon will largely determine which kind you eventually buy. Determine its primary function first. Will it be used mostly for sitting and lounging, for sleeping, or both? If both, will you want to switch back and forth between the two functions on a daily basis, or will you use it as a bed only occasionally?
How you put your futon to use will not only determine the kind of frame you use but also the quality of the mattress. Be aware that if you are going to use it primarily for sleeping, a wood frame can provide a very firm surface. If that is something you don’t enjoy, consider a thicker, better-quality futon pad, or maybe even a mattress pad on top to make it softer.
If you want to switch back and forth between a sleeping surface and a seat, narrow your options to frames that are easy to operate. Some futon frames can be difficult to adjust, especially for one person.

Does The Mattress Feature Smart Technology
Many modern mattresses have advanced features. Smart technology is designed to enhance comfort and improve your quality of sleep. Depending on your needs, some features you should look for in a mattress are temperature regulation, motion separation, built-in massagers, sleep tracking sensors and environmental monitoring.
When shopping around for a mattress, ask the sales representative about the features that the different mattresses offer for different types of customers. Lastly, find out whether a smart mattress is the right choice for you from a sales manager.
What Type Of Mattress Should I Buy
Despite what the internet and mattress salesmen may want you to believe, there is no any one material that is superior to another. Each person has their own list of preferences, which hopefully you have established by reading this guidance.
Got your shopping list handy? Awesome! Lets look at what features and selling points each material delivers, as well as the many different types of beds you can choose from.

When Is The Best Time To Buy A Mattress
Buying a new mattress is a big investment, and the best time to buy is obviously when the prices are discounted the most. Luckily, those times come at fairly predictable and frequent times throughout the year for many mattress brands and retail stores.
While not every company will always participate in these major sales, theres a good chance you can find a great mattress deal around these holidays:
- Black Friday
- Labor Day
- New Years
Keep in mind that most mattress sales start up to a week before the holiday and can extend up to a week after the holiday.
You can also expect to save on mattresses around different company events, like grand opening sales, liquidation sales, moving sales and anniversary sales. These arent as predictable so its something to keep an eye out for.

What About Coil Count
You may hear people talk about coil counts. There is a reason Ive written this much and havent really mentioned them until now. Theyre generally not important, as long as youre not getting the least-expensive mattress. There are too many variables to consider to compare coil counts in one mattress to another. Type of coil, gauge of the coil, the number of turns, whether or not its doubled up on the inside, etc. One mattress might have 1,000 coils, and another will have 900, but the 900 coil mattress might have a lot more steel in the coils overall.
The one thing I can say is to avoid is any mattress that has 420 or fewer Bonnell coils in a queen size. Those are only suitable for guest rooms, and theyre barely good for that. If the number is above that, youre probably fine.

Reasons To Choose Gsm Fabric In Mattress
Often mattress buyers do not pay attention to considering the GSM value of a mattress fabric. However, if you too belong to the same group, you must know the importance of GSM fabric before you conclude.
- GSM will help you to understand more about the fabric weight. It will tell you about how dense the fabric is and whether it will suit your needs or not.
- This particular measurement attribute will also help you to choose the perfect mattress based on the seasons. For example, if the GSM is around 250 or 300, you cannot use the mattress in hot weather.
- With the help of GSM, you can also know whether the top fabric will provide you with a luxurious feel or not. In addition, you can also determine the mattresss comfort level based on the fabric GSM.
- Mattress top fabrics having high GSM values are more durable and resistant to wear to tear. However, the same cannot be said for fabrics coming with lower GSM values.

Back sleepers dont require quite as thick a comfort layer as side sleepers because they spread their weight more evenly on the mattress. However, its still important to have some cushioning to fill in the gap between the mattress and the lower back to provide adequate support for the lumbar area. Balancing responsive support with just the right amount of cushioning at the sleep surface, a medium or firm comfort top innerspring mattress is a great choice for a back sleeper. See What Your Health Care Provider Thinks
If you have a back or neck condition, talk to your doctor or physical therapist about what he or she recommends. You should aim for the neck and low back to be in a neutral position while lying on the mattress. This promotes good spinal alignment. While doctors are not mattress experts, they know your medical history and may have good advice from that point of view.
Delivery And Return Policies
Whether purchasing online or in a store, be sure to inquire about the delivery policy to ensure that the mattress can be safely delivered to your house. Many online retailers use known courier services like FedEx or UPS to ship their products, but regional availability may vary and your location may incur an additional surcharge.
If mobility and lifting large boxes is an issue for you, you may inquire if the company offers a White Glove Delivery service. For an extra charge , the company will engage a professional delivery service to bring the mattress into your home and install it in your bedroom.
Most mattresses are returnable if you are not satisfied with your purchase, but make sure you read the fine print on their return policies so that you know exactly how mattresses are removed from your house, how much you are refunded and how soon you can expect to have your money back. Beware that some companies require you to keep the mattress for a full month before initiating a return to ensure you have given the bed a proper test run.

D Thickness And Density Options
Toppers tend to fall in the range of between two and eight inches thick. If you need to revitalize an aging mattress, sleep on your side, or if you weigh more than average, you may need to look at thicker options. The materials with the best range of thickness are memory foam and latex.
In addition, the density of a topper is important in determining how much support it will provide you. Memory foam and latex toppers tend to have the most choice, allowing you to find just the right comfort level you need.
See the memory foam section below for more information about thickness and density. On a personal note, Ive used a four inch medium density memory foam topper for the last size months, and absolutely love it.
With Or Without Springs
A matter of taste. If you like the feeling of a bouncy mattress, spring ones should be your first choice. They are durable, which is something many customers are looking for since its considered to be a long-term investment. The latest models have fabrics in between the coils to limit the movements of the whole mattress making it convenient for a queen- and king-sized beds. The orthopedic properties, as well as the service life of high-quality spring and springless mattresses, can be quite equivalent.

How Do I Care For The Mattress
Taking care of your mattress will help you make the most of your investment. This is why it is important to find out whether the mattress you plan to buy has specific care instructions. Inquire whether the product will need a mattress protector, the recommended cleaning method and instructions for moving it.
Proper maintenance will help to extend the longevity of your mattress. Keeping the pad in tip-top shape will also ensure you sleep happily over the entire lifespan of the mattress.
