The Harmony is similar to the Purple Pillow in that it incorporates the gel gridbut thats where the resemblance ends. The outer fabric is a nylon-spandex blend that has a moisture-wicking treatment. According to the rep, the Harmony’s grid is made with a special type of latex that lends a jiggly yet firm sensation.

The Harmony doesn’t include booster pads and isnt adjustable or customizable. Its shape is more similar to a traditional pillowagain, think ravioli, not chicken nugget. According to the rep, its well-liked by folks who favor side sleeping, so we tested it in our roundup of pillows for side sleepers.

Like the Purple Pillow, the Harmony comes in just the standard size, but it’s available in two heights: 6.5 inches and a tall version thats 7.5 inches. The price, $159, is the same regardless of height, making it one of the most expensive pillows we tested.

The mattress is made in the USA. The foams inside the bed are CertiPUR-US certified. This means the foams are free from harmful chemicals and toxins.

The MyPillow mattress ships for free to the 48 contiguous states. Unfortunately, the company does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada.

Last we checked, the MyPillow mattress is only available to purchase online. Although the companys pillows and other bedding accessories are sold in select retail locations, their mattress is not. It wouldnt surprise us though if you see the MyPillow mattress pop up in retail chains like Costco or Sams Club in the future.

Ii Size Construction And Durability

GhostBed offers the GhostPillow in standard size while MyPillow® comes in standard and King sizes. It is important to mention that the Mattress Clarity reviewer specifically made note of the standard Queen size MyPillow® seemed much smaller than other pillows of the same size. This may be due to the shredded foam becoming bunched preventing loft.

At 6-inches, or 5.5-inches as measured by Mattress Clarity, the GhostPillow clearly has much more loft to support the head and neck than the 2-inch high MyPillow®.

Their website touts its patented 3-piece interlocking fill but simply put MyPillow® basically uses a shredded foam to fill their pillows. When ordering the MyPillow® one can choose the fill level but when it comes down to it the shredded foam will need to be fluffed in order to get it to support in any way. Upon receiving the MyPillow® one is instructed to place the pillow in the dryer for 15-minutes before using. This can also be a frustrating task for those apartment dwellers without a washer and dryer. MyPillow® can be machined washed and dried.

The Verdict: Purple Pillow Or Mypillow

As I mentioned before, comfort is by far the number one factor in determining a pillow for me. These companies can make all the claims they want, but after touching, feeling, and sleeping on both of these pillows, the clear winner was MyPillow.

Everyone is different, and what feels comfortable to me could feel uncomfortable to you. I enjoyed the Purple Pillow, but it was simply too heavy and inflexible for me. If you are a stationary sleeper, you should seriously consider trying it out.

As promised, their material did a great job keeping my head cool throughout the night. The material is much more breathable than most pillows, and I never woke up hot or uncomfortable.

The model that they sell now, which I bought, comes in one style and does not give you any options for adjusting firmness.
