What the Reviews Say: Reviewers rave about how durable the air mattress is despite extreme use. The mattress is comfortable and super durable. In three weeks, we never had to re-inflate itthats with sleeping on it each night, my two year old jumping on it and my cats walking across it. While another five-star reviewer added, I have a lot of back pain in the morning normally, but not on this. I am well over 300 lbs and this thing never deflated or gave out.

Queen Size Air Mattress Dimensions

The queen-size air mattress is a luxury air mattress designed for maximum comfort and long-term use.

The product dimensions of a typical queen air mattress are between 70-80 inches long and 60 inches wide, with its thickness ranging between 7-9 inches and the height as much as 25 inches.

Air mattresses are mostly used for large outdoor events, as a temporary bed option during house moves or for quick sleeping arrangements on camping trips. They also fit well in guest rooms, as they can support as much as 600 pounds.

In general, this air mattress size will only fit in camping tents larger than 10×10. This means that a double-tall queen air mattress wont be suitable for your truck or car camping plans.

Queen-size air mattresses are also very comfortable to sleep on and can conveniently hold two bodies.

Choosing the right type of queen-size air mattress to use is dependent on your intended use for the air mattress. Because these air mattresses vary in thickness and height, some designs require padding or foundation, while others can be placed virtually anywhere.

Heres What I Learned From The 4

Sleeping on an air mattress for four months sounds insane, I know. But I did learn a few things from the experience.

  • Using an air mattress as a bed is NOT for people who suffer from back pain. To me, the bed was extremely comfortable with the memory-foam mattress topper, and I never had any back painbut then again, I never do anyway. Those used to firm beds would probably struggle sleeping on an inflated surface.
  • Sleeping on an air mattress can get very cold. Some nights I would wake up freezing, having to layer blankets between myself and the bottom sheet on the mattress just to warm up. This happened on chilly fall and winter nights when our heat was running on low, and the floor was particularly cold. Maybe I shouldve placed a rug underneath the raft? Oh well.
  • This Intex air mattress is WELL worth the $50 price tagespecially since competitors charge almost double. I literally slept on this mattress EVERY NIGHT for four months. The fact that this air mattress survived in a college apartment and only deflated once is beyond impressive. If that isnt a test of true strength, durability, and worth, then I really dont know what is.

Would I do this again by choice? Ha! No way. But I buy this Intex air mattress over and over again. Its perfect for when friends sleep over, and for bringing on short tripsyou really cant go wrong with the price.

Using plywood: Use plywood thats the same size as your bed frame and mattress as it can adjust properly. Plywood should always be 3 to 4 inches thick so that it is strong and fixed. Many times air mattress punctures due to having a splinter in plywood. So, to protect your air mattress from sticking to the sharp corners of the plywood, make sure that there is no type of splinter in plywood. For, extra safety you can use a thick blanket or tarp over the surface of the plywood.

Use Some Velcro Strips: You can use heavy-duty Velcro strips to protect your mattress from sliding around the bed. It will work as an adhesive hook-and-loop material and will hold your mattress in a firm position. This type of item is usually found in craft or fabric stores.
