Keep in mind that feel is subjective, and can change depending on your body type and preferred sleep position. For reference, Im 59, about 125 lbs, and prefer to sleep on my side.
As you can see in the graphic below, I actually thought all three mattresses had pretty distinct feels, so Ill section them off below so you can get my full thoughts on each one.
Purple Hybrid: I found this mattress to be quite firm, so gave it a 7 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale. When compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness, its clear that this mattress is going to work best for those who like a more supportive feel. I think stomach or back sleepers would benefit most from this feel, as the polymer layer is thin enough to support an even spinal line from hips to shoulders.
Purple Hybrid Premier 3: I gave this bed a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, and felt it had a true medium-firm feel. Id especially recommend this bed to combination sleepers who move between multiple positions in the night and those suffering from lower back pain or looking for a mattress for sciatica. It struck a really nice balance between pressure relief and support that I think could feel comfortable in most sleeping positions.

What Are You Getting
The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is a 13-inch mattress with a unique 4-inch hyper-elastic polymer top layer constructed in a honeycomb pattern, which gives the bed unique support and comfort properties. The support layer is comprised of 7.5 tall pocketed coils. Sheets of foam separate the two layers and line the bottom of the mattress. Surrounding all sides is a 3 wide foam edge support, and the mattress is wrapped in a stretchy, cushioned knit cover.

The Purple Hybrid Is The Firmest Purple Mattress
I didnt have any issues sleeping on this mattress no pain or aches from day one. I was experiencing some back pain from sitting in a chair all day working and gaming, and I did wonder if the bed exacerbated it because, for some reason, the back pain felt worse during the month I tested out this bed. However, I never actually woke up with any pain, so I dont think I should blame the bed.
The Hybrid was relatively comfortable, but I felt a little disappointed after about two weeks of sleeping on it. The marketing will certainly have you believe that the bed will be life-changing and the most amazing, comfortable mattress youll ever sleep on. For me, though, I liked the bed, but I didnt love it. And that was a problem since it cost me $1,626 after taxes. I was comfortable laying in the Purple Hybrid, but I wasnt blissful. For $1,600, I felt I should utterly adore my mattress, and I just didnt.
The problem was that the Purple Hybrid is actually the firmest mattress Purple has to offer. I didnt know that when I bought it. Rather, I had tested out the Purple mattresses at a nearby store and thought that the Hybrid was softer than the Original . I still feel like the Hybrid in the store was squishier than the one I got sent to me. Maybe it was all in my head, maybe the bed in the store was just broken in by hundreds of customers laying on it truly, I have no clue. I bought it because it felt good in the store and that was that.
