What I Didn’t Love

On laundry day, I slept on the cover while my pillowcase was being washed. I found myself flipping over because it just…wasn’t soft on my cheek.

100% cotton is known for having that crisp, hotel pillow feel, so perhaps I shouldn’t have expected extreme softness but after watching everyone in review videos lay their head directly onto the cover, I assumed going coverless was a thing. I can’t find an exact number for the thread count on the pillow, but Casper’s sheets clock in at a 200 thread count. Most luxury hotel sheets hit at around a 300 thread count, so if the pillow is anything like the sheets, maybe this is why it was a bit rough. A thin pillowcase should solve the mild scratchy feeling without limiting the cotton’s breathability. Besides, who would sleep without a pillow case anyway?

Remind me to not complain too much about Casper’s materials, because both the inner and outer pillow are washer and dryer safe.

Average Weight Sleepers 130 Lbs 230lbs

Average weight back sleepers will feel the most comfortable on the mid loft pillow. In this sleep position, the head will get a good balance of comfort and support. The Casper mid loft pillow will work decently well for average weight side sleepers, but some people may feel their head sink too far into the pillow. This may crane the neck out of alignment, which could lead to pain.

Average weight stomach sleepers will need a pillow that is almost completely flat. If this is your preferred sleep position, opt for the low loft pillow.

The Casper pillow is made up of two parts, which makes it easier and faster to wash and dry than your average pillow. We followed the instructions to separate the outer and inner pillows and wash them in the washing machine with cool water and a mild detergent on the gentle cycle. Casper recommends running the rinse cycle twice and tumble drying the pillows on low heat with dryer balls or clean tennis balls. The pillows washed well and seemed just as full and fluffy when we popped them out of the dryer and zipped them back together. We also found that the Casper dried faster than some of its competitors.

There are three options available right now, the signature pillow , a brand new foam pillow and a down option that I’ve had the chance to review. All three of these pillows offer something different so all types of sleepers should be able to find something that comes close to meeting their needs.

Which Casper Bed Is Worth It

Though the Casper Select is a Costco-exclusive, it’s well worth it.

If it wasnt obvious enough: Id tell anyone who is deciding between the two versions to go with the Casper Select. Not only is it cheaper, its also a far and away better mattress.

To be honest, I was incredibly sad to let go of the Casper Select. Its not the best mattress Ive ever slept onthat honor goes to the Leesa Hybrid and Tuft & Needle Originalbut it is a really good option, especially for people on a budget.
