Is The Nectar Mattress Worth It? #shorts

After sleeping in a queen-size bed with Jon and lets face it sometimes the kids for over 10 years, I was ready for an update. We had purchased that queen mattress right when we got engaged and we will be celebrating 17 years of marriage in January! Wow! For the last 3 years, the mattress was in really bad shape. It had coils and every time I got up it made the most awful noise. My back was aching, I was constantly waking up because I was hot and most nights I ended up way too close to my nightstand because a queen-size mattress is just too small when you have kids. We knew that when the time came to move into the new house we would be splurging and getting a king-size mattress! Now, I know everyone is currently obsessed with buying a mattress online and having it delivered in a teeny box that you get to open and pop into shape. I was interested in learning all about memory foam mattresses with no coils but wasnt into the idea of not having any idea of what I was getting into before purchasing it. You spend so much of your life sleeping that I wanted to make sure I had really tested out the mattress beforehand. I was extremely interested in learning more about Nectar mattresses because they had the best reviews. So, are Nectar mattresses worth it?

We have been sleeping on our Nectar mattress for 4 months now and Im in love! It has been a total dream. My kids love and are constantly sneaking into our bed. I think Nectar mattresses are in their future.

Pressure Relief & Pain

For those who experience pain building up in their pressure points, the right bed should provide the necessary relief to help alleviate any discomfort. Memory foam, in particular, is a material touted for its success when it comes to pressure relief.

The 6.5 firmness score of the Nectar places it within the medium-firm range for the right amount of pressure-relieving comfort for most individuals. Sleepers should feel the memory foam gently cradle their body for all-over relief and uniform sinkage.

Back Pain The mid-range firmness of this mattress provides a balance of support and cushioning to prevent pain in the lower and upper back. This allows a healthy sleep posture for most people sleeping on their side and back.Hip Pain People struggling with hip pain need a mattress that supports this area without creating any pressure. The Nectar allows some contouring without taking away from the support level you need to prevent the hips from sinking in.Shoulder Pain Shoulder pain can come from a mattress thats too firm, especially for side sleepers. The Nectars mid-range firmness should allow plenty of pain relief by allowing just enough sinkage and support.

Hold On What About The Nectar Lush Mattress

If youve been researching a Nectar mattress purchase for a bit, youre likely wondering why we havent mentioned the Nectar Lush mattress. In fact, weve already had a handful of customers ask if we carry Nectar Lush. Well, our Nectar mattress review wouldnt be complete if we dodged questions about the Nectar Lush! Nectar discontinued the Lush and replaced it with the Nectar Premier and Nectar Premier Copper mattresses last spring. So how do these new mattresses compare to the Lush?

For starters, the Premier and Premier Copper mattresses both fill the same niche as the Nectar Lush. As we already discussed, these two mattresses offer multiple improvements over the Nectar Classic, much like the Lush. From the added layer of phase change material, to the inclusion of more gel memory foam, the Nectar Premier and Nectar Premier Copper have continued developing many of the upgrades first introduced with Nectar Lush. But thats where the similarities end.

The most obvious difference is the addition of even more gel memory foam with Nectar Premier and Premier Copper. While the Nectar Lush had a profile of 12 inches, the profile for the Premier and Premier Copper are 13 and 14 inches respectively. Not only do these mattresses improve on the Nectar Classic, but their top comfort layer has even more gel memory foam than the old Lush mattress. This makes for an even softer feel, while still offering between medium to medium-firm support.

Are you familiar with Nectar Sleep? If not, heres a quick history lesson. As one of the pioneers of the mattress-in-a-box business model, Nectar Sleep helped revolutionize the way that consumers view mattress shopping. Initially, Nectar Sleep set out to create a comfortable, budget-oriented memory foam mattress that could be sold to customers online and shipped to their doorstep. The result? The Nectar Mattress now known as the Nectar Classic.

Fast forward a few years, and Nectar has now expanded. Instead of just one mattress in their product line, they now offer three. Think of these mattresses as Nectar offering a good, a better, and a best. And instead of having to buy online, you can now visit a number of mattress stores like ourselves to try, buy and pickup your mattress if you want to check it out first. But dont worry, even if you buy from us, it still comes in a nifty box!

Before we dig into the specifics, remember that no matter which Nectar mattress you choose, you are getting a quality gel memory foam mattress. Every single Nectar mattress is backed by an absolutely absurd, 365-night trial period and Nectars Forever Warranty. That means you can try a Nectar Classic, Nectar Premier or Nectar Premier Copper mattress in your home, and if you dont like it after 364 days theyll take it back for any reason.

Nectar Mattress: Customer Reviews

My Style: Summer Jumpsuit & Heels

There are more than 46,600 customer reviews on the Nectar website, with an average star rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars. The vast majority of reviews for the Nectar mattress are extremely positive, with customers saying it delivered great value for money, that the sink-in feel helped them sleep better, and even relieved their back or hip pain . One states: Delivery was prompt, and the mattress is great for its price. Its met all of my expectations for a good nights sleep.

While many people love the feeling of sinking into the Nectar Memory Foam, it’s worth flagging that if you’re used to innersprings, the feeling of memory foam can take a little getting used to. Amongst the negative comments, most focus around the mattress either feeling too soft or too firm. While some mattress brands offer different firmnesses, you’ve only got one option here we’ve addressed this in our ‘Firmness and comfort’ section to help you get a good idea on what to expect, but the mattress trial is there to take advantage of if it turns out you don’t get on with the sleep feel.

Another comment that crops up a few times is that the Nectar is not supportive enough for heavier people . Some reviewers also noticed an off-gassing smell, which lasted for several hours to several days, and a few found that it slept a bit warm.

If you struggle to get comfortable on a new bed, consider investing in one of the best mattress toppers to boost its softness until you break in your new bed more.

Note: At the time of our testing, we spoke with customers who were experiencing a 2-4 week waiting period for their mattress to be delivered. We have since confirmed that Nectar switched their supplier and is now shipping mattresses the same day that orders are placed, leading to a 2-4 day delivery time. Additionally, the price for a queen mattress is now $999.

Nectar Mattress Review: Prices And Deals

  • Ignore MSRP this mattress is always discounted
  • It comes with up to $499 of free bedding
  • A lifetime warranty increases your value for money

Price-wise, the Nectar Memory Foam sits squarely within the affordable mattress sector. That means you will find cheaper memory foam models, such as from Zinus, Linenspa, Brooklyn Bedding and Cocoon by Sealy, but also plenty of comparable models that charge a lot more for the same levels of build quality, comfort and support. In other words, the Nectar Mattress is good value for money.

As is the case with most bed brands, there are regular Nectar mattress sales to take advantage of. Nectar is pretty consistent with what it offers you can basically ignore MSRP, it’s pretty much always sold at the ‘normal’ prices in the list below, and you’ll always get a bundle of bedding for free, too. Here is the official pricing for the Nectar Mattress:

  • MSRP Twin: $873
  • MSRPTwin XL: $1,043
  • MSRPFull: $1,298
  • MSRPQueen: $1,398
  • MSRPKing: $1,698
  • MSRP Cal king: $1,698
  • MSRPSplit king: $2,086

Nectar also runs occasional flash sales, which typically knock 25% off the price of mattresses. Generally there’s no bundle included in these offers though, so if you need the bedding you might be better off paying slightly more for the mattress in the evergreen deal, but getting those extras.

I Bought A Nectar Mattress Online And It Was 1 Of My Smartest Purchases

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

I’ve never been a big fan of online shopping, especially when it comes to big furniture items. Just a few months ago, the idea of buying a mattress online would have been completely out of the question. I would have wanted to go to the store and test them out before making my decision. But then we found ourselves expecting company and had no where for them to sleep, so I had to adapt. And after some extensive research, I ordered a Nectar mattress and hoped for the best.

In an unexpected twist, I ended up sleeping on it that night thanks to a head cold that had my children up several times throughout the night needing snuggles. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Nectar mattress is probably a 7 in terms of firmness. While I’m a side sleeper who typically prefers an ultraplush pillow-top mattress, I was impressed by how supported I felt. I slept with one or more of my sick children in our guest room for several nights, and while my new Nectar mattress isn’t as plush as I’d prefer, it was nice to not wake up with aches in my lower back or a stiff neck.

What Does The Nectar Mattress Feel Like

Nectar Mattress Review (2021 Newer Version) Is it worth it??

With the three layers of memory foam, the Nectar mattress has a distinct, dense memory foam feel that traditional memory foam is known for. When you lay down on it, the bed slowly contours to your body.

However, its a different memory foam feel than other beds. Its actually firm at first. When you lay down on the bed, you dont immediately sink. You wont get that stuck-in-the-mud feeling when you sleep on it. The foam responds to touch and returns to its original state when the weight is released.

Nectar Memory Foam Mattress Review: What We Didn’t Like

  • Removable cover isn’t machine-washable
  • Can take a little longer to fully expand
  • Some testers found it slightly too firm

One feature we’d have liked to see in the Nectar Memory Foam mattress is a machine-washable cover. Although you can unzip the cover, Nectar advises against removing and machine washing it the Tencel fibres may become damaged if you do. Instead, Nectar recommends spot cleaning any spills with a safe, mild detergent or hand soap. too.)

If that’s a deal breaker, there are brands that have machine washable, removable covers the memory foam Amerisleep AS3 , for example, or anything from Tempur-Pedic. The latter is expensive, so keep an eye out for a Tempur-Pedic mattress sale to bring the price down a little. Both brands let you can remove and machine-wash the covers of their mattresses in a cool cycle.

Nectar Vs Purple Mattress Is Nectar Mattress Worth It

Both Purple and Nectar are popular brands of bed-in-a box mattresses. Both companies offer all-foam mattresses with comparable firmness levels and similar pricing. Their mattresses provide excellent pressure relief and motion isolation.

The comfort layers are made of different materials. The Nectar features soft memory foam, while the Purple features a unique hyper-elastic gel polymer grid.

The memory foam in Nectar creates a body-hugging feel and provides better pressure relief. This creates a lot of body contouring and sinkage. If you like the cozy, slow-moving feel found in memory foam mattresses, then the Nectar is for you.

The Purple mattresss unique gel grid gives it a better balance between support and comfort. It helps keep the bed cool, which is excellent for those who tend to sleep hot. Gel grid provides more support to sleepers and keeps you up on the bed, rather than sinking in.

Lightweight sleepers may find the Nectar much softer than the Purple. Purple may be more supportive for larger sleepers, however. The Nectar is great for lightweight people, side sleepers, and those who prefer a memory foam feel. Side sleepers and back-sleepers who want a lot more contouring will love the Nectar. It might be too soft for stomach or combo sleepers.

The Purple is best for heavier-weight people, combination sleepers, stomach sleepers, and back sleepers who want more support. Because of its breathable structure, its great for hot sleepers.

Nectar Vs Hybrid Mattresses

High-quality hybrid mattresses that have individually wrapped coils in the support core and memory foam or latex foam in the upper comfort layer are some of the most versatile, durable, and breathable mattresses that you can buy.

However, if you sleep as a couple, need a quiet mattress, are a restless sleeper, and/or need exceptional pressure relief, then you may prefer the all-foam design of Nectars mattresses.
